WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER OR SANCTUARY, AND WE DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO PROVIDE OR FACILITATE MEDICAL OR VETERINARY CARE FOR SICK OR INJURED ANIMALS.CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT OTHER POTENTIAL RESOURCES FOR HELP |
Texas CARES helps owners in need of finding new homes for their pets, as well as working with local animal shelters to assist shelter animals in finding new forever homes. Submission of our surrender request form does not guarantee that Texas CARES will be able to take your pet into our program. However, we will do everything possible to assist owners whose pets qualify for our indoor only Adoption Program. All adult cats accepted into our Adoption Program must be current on all vaccinations, have a current negative FELV/FIV test, and be spayed/neutered. For Kittens, we suggest a donation of $25 per kitten or any amount that you can give, will help us with cost of FELV and FIV testing (must test negative), deworming, vaccinations and spay/neuter if age appropriate – we thank you for your consideration.
Texas CARES is unable to assist with un-socialized stray or feral cats and kittens, including pregnant cats or mother with kittens. If you are willing to provide a pregnant and/or a mother w/kittens safe shelter in or outdoors until kittens are weaned, Texas CARES will consider intake for kittens only and Texas CARES will provide a TCAP Spay Voucher for the mother cat. For more information about TCAP and how the may be able to help with feral cats through their TNR program (trap, neuter, return), visit their website here.
